How To Train Your Dragon: Ireth and Vespera Fable

Our fable begins with a young 18 year old viking girl that goes by the name Ireth Netherland. Who isn't a fighter but an apothecary and alchemist and has a natural curiosity that seems to get her into trouble in more ways than one. Viewed as the outcast of the whole tribe, Ireth must under go a now ten year tradition of claiming a dragon companion of her own again after failing it for 2 years and this is her last chance. Having experienced many bad moments with dragons Ireth has developed a fear of most of the dragon species. Distraught and worried that she would be kicked out of the tribe, Ireth goes out into the woods after failing the test a third time to allow her some comfort in her own mind. There she meets something unexpected that would make her life either easier or deeper into despair. How To Train Your Dragon is owned by Cressida Cowell and Dreamworks.

@troblsomtwins829: I... what? Vespera just made a pleasing sound. So... no, Ireth didn't derp.

@Janobii: Ok, can you explain why is this 'first' business so important? is it really that big of an achievement to be a first commenter or something, because I fail to see why.

D'aww, that's adorable. I always knew Night Furies were just overgrown, reptilian pussy cats XD.

Hmm. I wonder what the reaction of a certain sabotaging douchebag will be? (And for that matter, aren't Nadder spikes toxic, or would other wyverns be naturally immune to the poison?)

@Janobii: I fail to see what's so 'fun' about having a first comment... Why should it matter if you did or didn't?

Reply
yamilink, March 9th, 2014, 11:06 am

@Janobii: It may be fun for some people, but I know for a fact that for the majority of the artists... it's annoying. Because a lot of people who do that don't even leave any feedback, I know you did, but still it can be rather obnoxious. I don't want some sort of race going on between my comics. Because it only tells me that people are more interested in getting the first comment than the comic itself.

@Janobii: It's alright, I am not trying to bash you because of it. I just want you to understand the feelings of a lot of artists is all. C:
In fact you could probably use this information to help the people that you do know to give them an insight on how artists view that sort of thing. Artists crave feed back, that how they can improve themselves by other people's views. It also gives us the drive to keep working to make ourselves happy. That's all. C:

@Janobii: People try their best to get first comment because it makes them feel good, for bragging rights, for competition, and whatever other bs they can come up with. Forgive me, I'm just tired of certain things that I keep coming across, most of it I'll never understand, like why people keep telling Chuck Norris jokes even though they stopped being funny after the few other thousand times...
Again, I'm sorry.

The close up of Ireth's eye is particularly well done.

For those wondering, this is a nod to the scene in the first movie, when Hiccup accidently discovered that scratching spot under a dragon's chin.
